KBEMF 30주년 모임, 타코마에서 은혜 가운데 개최

한인침례교 영어목회자 모임(KBEMF) 30주년 기념 모임이 지난 2026년 3월 23일부터 25일까지 워싱턴주 타코마에 위치한 타코마제일침례교회(담임: 송경원 목사)에서 은혜 가운데 개최되었다. 

KBEMF는 30년 전 달라스제일침례교회(현 뉴송교회)에서 처음 시작된 이후, 한인 영어권 목회자들의 연합과 성장을 위한 중요한 모임으로 자리매김해 왔다. 이번 30주년 모임에서는 지난 30년간 디렉터(이사)로 섬겨온 분들과, 특히 내셔널 디렉터로 모임을 이끌어 온 로렌 정 목사에게 깊은 감사의 마음을 전하는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.

이번 모임에는 로렌 정 목사(Life Church), 송경원 목사(타코마제일침례교회), 그리고 제임스 변 목사(Life Spring Church)가 주강사로 말씀을 전하며 참석자들에게 큰 도전과 은혜를 나누었다. 참석자들은 함께 식사하며 교제하는 시간뿐 아니라, 보잉 공장 투어와 소그룹 모임을 통해 더욱 깊이 있는 나눔과 친교를 경험하였다. 이를 통해 목회 현장에서의 고민과 비전을 나누며 서로를 격려하는 귀한 시간이 되었다.

특별히 이번 모임에서는 단체의 새로운 도약을 위해 명칭을 “MEND Fellowship”으로 변경하기로 결정하였다. 또한 다음 모임은 시카고에서 개최될 예정으로, 앞으로의 사역 확장과 새로운 비전에 대한 기대를 모으고 있다.

이번 모임을 위해 장소를 제공하고 정성 어린 식사와 간식으로 섬겨준 타코마제일침례교회와 성도들에게 깊은 감사를 전하며, MEND Fellowship이 앞으로도 다음 세대를 위한 영어권 목회 사역을 더욱 힘있게 이어가기를 기대한다.

KBEMF 30th Anniversary Gathering Held in Tacoma with Grace and Fellowship

The 30th anniversary gathering of the Korean Baptist English Ministry Fellowship (KBEMF) was held from March 23 to 25, 2026, at Tacoma First Baptist Church (Senior Pastor: Rev. Kyungwon Song) in Tacoma, Washington. The event was marked by a spirit of grace, encouragement, and deep fellowship.

KBEMF began 30 years ago at Korean First Baptist Church of Dallas (now New Song Church) and has since become an important network for connection and growth among Korean-American English ministry pastors. During this special anniversary gathering, a time of appreciation was held to honor those who have served as directors over the past three decades, with particular gratitude expressed to Rev. Loren Chung, who has faithfully led the fellowship as National Director.

The conference featured Rev. Loren Chung (Life Church), Rev. Kyungwon Song (Tacoma First Baptist Church), and Rev. James Byun (Life Spring Church) as keynote speakers. Through their messages, participants were encouraged, challenged, and spiritually renewed.

In addition to the main sessions, attendees enjoyed meaningful fellowship through shared meals, a tour of the Boeing factory, and small group gatherings. These moments provided opportunities for deeper connection, mutual encouragement, and the sharing of ministry experiences and vision.

Notably, during this gathering, it was decided that the organization would adopt a new name, “MEND Fellowship,” marking a new chapter and renewed vision for the future. It was also announced that next year’s gathering will be held in Chicago, raising anticipation for continued growth and collaboration.

The participants expressed sincere gratitude to Tacoma First Baptist Church for hosting the event and for their generous hospitality through meals and refreshments. There is great expectation that MEND Fellowship will continue to strengthen and advance English ministry among the next generation.
