교회 재활성화 대회 2026 (Church Revitalization Conference)

교회의 건강한 회복과 부흥을 위한 “교회 재활성화 대회 2026”이 다양한 강사진과 체계적인 프로그램 속에서 진행되며 참석자들에게 깊은 도전과 방향성을 제시했다. 

이번 대회는 4월 13일(월)부터 15일(수)까지 진행되었으며, 주제 강의와 사례 발표, 전도 특강, 저녁 집회와 기도 시간으로 구성된 균형 잡힌 프로그램으로 운영되었다. 특히 경배와 찬양으로 시작하여, 말씀과 교제, 기도로 이어지는 일정은 참석자들이 영적 회복을 경험할 수 있도록 돕는 데 초점이 맞춰졌다. 경배와 찬양은 박종걸 목사(할렐루야 한인교회)가 담당해 주셨으며, 모일 때마다 힘 있고 은혜로운 찬양과 뜨거운 기도로 모두가 하나 되는 시간이었다.

주 강사로는 북미선교부(NAMB)에서 교회 재개척(Replant) 사역을 담당하는 Dr. Mark Clifton과 고승희목사(아름다운교회)께서 수고해 주셨다. 첫날 저녁 집회에서 클리프톤 목사는 빌립보서 4장을 중심으로 사도 바울이 빌립보교회에 전한 말씀을 통해, 교회 회복에 있어 가장 중요한 것이 무엇인지를 설명하며 교회 회복을 위한 도전을 했다. 둘째 날, 두 번째 강의에서는 “침체된 교회의 진단과 재개척의 비전”, “침체된 교회를 위한 처방과 재개척 전략” 등 핵심 강의를 인도하며, 교회의 본질 회복과 복음 중심의 사역 방향을 제시하였다.

또한 Rev. Karl Vaters (NewSmallChurch.com 대표)는 “성공을 다시 정의하라”, “큰 교회들과 작은 교회들: 무엇이 다른가” 라는 주제로, 작은 교회의 가치와 건강한 교회 모델에 대한 심도 있는 통찰을 주었다. 그는 교회의 성공을 단순히 교인 수로 판단하는 기준에서 벗어나야 함을 강조하며, 작은 교회와 대형 교회의 본질적인 차이를 설명했다. 특히 작은 교회 리더십은 규모보다 관계와 공동체성, 그리고 교회의 문화와 역사적 맥락을 중요하게 여긴다는 점을 강조하며, 건강한 교회는 숫자가 아니라 사명과 충실함으로 평가되어야 한다고 도전하였다.

고승희 목사는 첫날 저녁 집회에서 “건강한 교회, 건강한 목회”라는 주제로, 아름다운교회 부임 이후 교회를 재활성화하고 건강한 교회로 세워온 과정을 간증하며 참석자들에게 깊은 도전을 주었다. 이어 둘째 날에는 “종의 손이 하늘을 향하게 하소서”라는 제목으로, 출애굽기 17:8-16 말씀을 본문으로 중보기도의 능력과 사명에 대해 말씀을 전해주셨고, 마지막 폐회 예배에서는 “황폐한 땅을 고치시는 하나님”(역대하 7:13-14)을 통해 기도의 중요성을 다시 한번 강조하였다.

세미나 강사로는 강승수 목사(총무)가 “전도의 문화를 창조하라”는 주제로 강의하였다. 전도가 일회성 행사에 그치는 것이 아니라 교회의 지속적인 문화가 되어야 함을 강조하며, 북미선교부(NAMB)에서 제시하는 교재를 바탕으로 교회 안에 전도의 문화를 정착시키기 위한 실제적인 4단계 과정을 소개하였다. 이를 통해 참석자들에게 전도의 생활화와 공동체적 확산의 중요성을 제시하였다.

김형민 목사(새빛침례교회)는 교회에 부임하여 어려움을 극복하는 과정에서, 작은 교회이지만 선교지의 학생들을 위해 학교를 세워가는 사역을 감당하고 있는 간증을 나누며 큰 도전을 주었다. 가명훈 목사(토렌스조은교회)는 시카고의 어려운 교회에 부임하여 교회를 재활성화하는 과정과 함께 새로운 꿈과 비전을 품고 기도할 때 하나님께서 그 비전을 실제로 이루어 가신 간증을 나누며 참석자들에게 깊은 감동을 전했다. 또한 David Jackson 목사는 요한계시록 2장 에베소교회를 향한 말씀을 중심으로 첫사랑을 회복하고 예수님과 깊은 사랑의 관계로 나아갈 것을 도전하였다.

이번 세미나에 참석한 목회자들에게는 강사들의 저서들이 선물로 제공되었고, 특히 고승희 목사가 수십 년 목회 사역 가운데 정리한 성경공부 자료들도 나눠 주심으로 큰 유익과 감동을 더했다.

이번 세미나를 호스트해 주시고 매끼 그 어느 때와도 비교 불가한 푸짐하고 맛있는 음식들을 정성껏 준비해 주시고, 다양한 간식들로 눈과 입을 행복하게 해주시며, 최선을 다해 섬겨주신 아름다운교회와 고승희 목사께 깊은 감사를 전한다. 참석자들 모두가 식사 시간마다 기쁨과 행복을 나누며 “음식 치료”의 맛을 보게 되었다. 또한 이번 모임을 후원해 주신 토랜스조은교회(가명훈 목사)에도 감사의 뜻을 전한다.

이번에 참석한 어떤 목회자는 “이번처럼 알차고 의미 있는 세미나는 처음이었다”며 큰 위로와 격려를 받았다고 소감을 전하였고, 어떤 분은 너무 힘이 들고 지쳐있던 중에 하나님께서 위로하시고 힘주시는 시간이었다고 고백해, 이번 대회의 의미와 열매를 더욱 돋보이게 했다.

이번 모임은 5번째 재활성화 대회로, 그 어느 때보다 은혜가 넘치는 시간이었으며, 단순한 이론 전달을 넘어, 말씀과 기도, 실제 사례를 통해 교회 재활성화의 방향을 제시한 자리였다. 참석자들은 교회의 본질을 회복하고 복음 중심으로 나아가는 사역의 중요성을 다시금 확인하는 시간이 되었다.

Church Revitalization Conference 2026

The Church Revitalization Conference 2026, centered on the theme of restoring healthy and vibrant churches, was held from April 13 to 15. This conference brought together pastors and ministry leaders for a time of spiritual renewal, encouragement, and practical direction for ministry.

The program was thoughtfully structured with keynote messages, case studies, evangelism workshops, evening revival services, and prayer gatherings. Beginning with praise and worship and continuing through the Word, fellowship, and prayer, the entire schedule was designed to lead participants into a deeper experience of spiritual renewal. Rev. Jong-geol Park (Hallelujah Korean Church) led the praise sessions, uniting attendees in powerful worship and earnest prayer.

The main speakers included Dr. Mark Clifton (North American Mission Board), who oversees church replanting ministries at NAMB, Rev. Karl Vaters (NewSmallChurch.com) and Rev. Seung-hee Ko (Beautiful Church). Dr. Clifton, through Philippians 4, emphasized essential principles for church revitalization and challenged participants toward renewed commitment. In subsequent sessions, he addressed topics such as diagnosing stagnation in churches and presenting practical strategies for replanting and renewal.

Rev. Karl Vaters (NewSmallChurch.com) offered valuable insight into the role and strength of small churches. Through his lectures, he challenged the prevailing notion of measuring success solely by attendance and emphasized that true health is defined by faithfulness to mission, relationships, and community.

Rev. Seung-hee Ko delivered impactful messages including “Healthy Church, Healthy Ministry” and “Let the Servant’s Hands Be Lifted Toward Heaven,” highlighting both the journey of church revitalization and the central role of intercessory prayer. In the closing service, the message from 2 Chronicles 7:13–14 reaffirmed the importance of prayer in healing and restoration.

Dr. James Kang (Exec. Director of the Council of Korean Southern Baptist Churches in America) led a seminar titled “Creating a Culture of Evangelism.” He emphasized that evangelism must not remain a one-time event but become an ongoing culture within the church. Presenting a practical four-step process based on North American Mission Board (NAMB) resources, he provided a clear pathway for cultivating evangelism as a lifestyle within the church community.

Additional seminars included enriched the conference. Dr. Hyung-min Kim (Saebit Baptist Church) shared his experience of overcoming challenges in ministry and faithfully building a mission-focused church despite limitations. Rev. Ga Myeong-hoon (Torrance Jo-eun Church) testified to God’s work in revitalizing a struggling church, offering hope and encouragement to many. Rev. David Jackson challenged attendees to return to their first love for Jesus drawing from Revelation 2.

Participants were also blessed to receive books from the speakers, along with valuable Bible study materials compiled over many years by Pastor Ko Seung-hee. Special appreciation is extended to Beautiful Church and Pastor Ko Seung-hee for hosting the conference and for their sacrificial service, including the preparation of abundant meals and warm hospitality. Gratitude is also extended to Torrance Jo-eun Church (Pastor Ga Myeong-hoon) for their support.

One participant remarked, “This was the most meaningful and substantial seminar I have ever attended,” while another shared that it was a time of deep comfort and renewed strength from God. These testimonies reflect the profound impact of the conference. 

As the fifth Church Revitalization Conference, this gathering proved to be a time overflowing with grace. Moving beyond theory, it provided clear direction for church renewal through the Word, prayer, and real-life ministry examples. For all who attended, it was a meaningful opportunity to rediscover the essence of the church and to move forward with the Gospel at the center.
